An Evening of Music - Benefit Concert

The beloved “Old Side Kicks” music group will present an evening of toe-tapping country western and gospel music. Concert will be held at Calvary Community Church located off Hwy 19 just north of the airport at 82 Romans Road, Port Townsend, WA. Voluntary offering proceeds will help support the non-profit Pregnancy and Family Resource Services organization which serves the greater Jefferson County area. The community is invited to come and enjoy the evening, Saturday, October 29, starting at 7 pm.

For the Family: Sand, Seals, and Bloodstars

Bloodstar - This close up photo, taken by a West Seattle high school student, shows the aboral (or non mouth) side of a blood star, Henricia leviuscula. There is a lot to know about this small animal, not least of which is that it expresses pentiradial symmetry. By contrast, you express bilateral symmetry (your left half is the same as your right half).

Making History: The Elwha River Story in Four Acts

Indulge your inner scientist and your sense of adventure! Come to the Olympic Peninsula to study the Elwha River. We are documenting and studying the removal of the two Elwha River dams – a historic and national event!

The Elwha River is the largest river on the peninsula and historically had the largest salmon runs until it was dammed in the early 1900’s. Now 100 years later the dams are being re-moved and the salmon will hopefully be able to return to their original habitat.
