Ghost Stories with the Clallam Story People

Inspired by Erik Sandgren’s solo exhibition, Ghost Stories, THE STORY PEOPLE OF CLALLAM COUNTY will present an evening of their own ghost stories. Seven local tellers, surrounded by Sandgren’s mythic paintings, will spin word pictures brimming with the preternatural. Tellers are: Elaine Grinnell, James “the Obscure” Hodgson, Dennis Duncan, Pat Ferris, Alice Susong, Christy Wright and Cherie Trebon. They will be joined by Christopher Thomas a First Nations poet from the Couer d'Alene tribe.Suggested donation $6, $5 Friends members.

2012 FIRST FRIDAY LECTURE SERIES In the Council Chambers of Port Townsend's historic city hall (540 Water Street) on the first Friday of each month at 7 p.m.

March 2 — Carol Estby Dagg, author of The Year We Were Famous, tells the tale of her great aunt who walked from Spokane to New York in 1896 to save the family farm and prove that women were up to the task.

There are many wisdom traditions, but each depends upon a “living wisdom” that can connect current dilemmas with eternal truths. For, wisdom seeks to transcend history in order to reveal the hidden unity and surprising resiliency of life.
