Jefferson County Historical Society Museum Opens New Theater Gallery

We Came With Dreams

We would like to invite you inside the Jefferson County Historical Society Museum for a state of the art media experience in our newly opened Theater Gallery.  This is a great opportunity to see how technology can enhance the understanding of time and place beyond traditional museum exhibits.  “We Came With Dreams” is a vibrant video introduction to the history of Jefferson County, and, brings the stories of the people here on our Peninsula alive.  The tales of journeys moving to the area from the earliest Native Americans to the most recent retirees are recounted.  A blend of dramatic music, beautiful photography, and oral histories paint the scenes.  The walls of the gallery feature historical photographs and digital images from the Jefferson County Historical Society collection. A creative team from Storyline Studio designed the gallery around four immigrant “dreams” which drew settlers to Jefferson County: Dreams of Harvest, Dreams of Empire, Dreams of Community, and Dreams of Freedom.  Our new Theater Gallery is a great introduction to the main body of exhibits in our Museum.  The Society utilized a grant from the Washington State Heritage Capital Projects Fund to create the new gallery. If you would like more information on all of the Historic sites operated by our Society go to www.jchsmuseum.org.  As always, remember the first Saturday of the month is free admission to our Museums for Jefferson County residents and admission is always free to JCHS members.
